Don McPherson served in-country from June 1969 to June 1970 as an administrative specialist in the U.S. Army. In spite of his training in field artillery, he ended up in U.S. Army-Vietnam headquarters as a clerk-typist.
Donald McPherson served in the U.S. Army as an administrative specialist and in field artillery. His served in-country from June 1969 to June 1970. He was drafted at age 25 and said he adhered to his father’s advice: “Never volunteer for anything.”
